Hello Book Lovers,

Another few days & we'll bid goodbye to 2025. Yet another year will go leaving plenty of memories & experiences with us. We'll step into a brand new year with the goal of keep improving as  individuals & contributing towards betterment of society. No doubt that in our pursuit of becoming our best version books are our most honest companions. Book is the medium to acquire few drops of wisdom from a vast ocean of knowledge. I am sure books will continue to be our companion in the coming year too just like they have been so far. But before planning for the reading journey of 2026 it's time to review our new additions to library this year. So as usual like every other year here's the list of my favourite books for 2025 but this year instead of  top 5 I am listing top 6. Reason for that later in the post. Let's find out.

Coaching Beyond

Coaching Beyond

My love for books related to cricket made me pick a book on cricket coaching which is a new addition to my reading list. Coaching Beyond is an extremely passionate narration of a coach (R Sridhar, former fielding coach of Indian men's cricket team) where he shares  how the much loved game of cricket  shaped his career.  After reading The Winner's Mindset by Shane Watson  last year my interest in the topic of off the field preparation of cricketers has increased. This book is yet another addition to that list where a coach analyses various aspects of fielding both as a coach & player. Here are some of the major takeaways from the book

  • Sridhar's journey from a state level player to an acclaimed national level coach.
  • Different aspects of fielding  & how it became an important part of modern day cricket.
  • Players' thought process to excel in fielding.
  • A coach's contribution in shaping players' careers.

The Earnicorns

The Earnicorns

Over the years I have read a handful of books on startup journeys and those stories really fascinated me just because of the fact that how a small idea can ignite a revolution in the world. In my continuous pursuit of understanding the startup ecosystem I picked up this beautiful book named The Earnicorns written by Prof. Dhruv Nath. Even though this book too covers the entire journey of four of the successful players of their respective fields, it has a differential factor that makes it a noteworthy reading (Click here for my review of the book). Here are some of the major takeaways from the book

  • How majority of the startups are running behind the game of unreal valuation whereas few ones are taking the  necessary steps to strengthen the most important aspect of  running a business which is profitability.
  • Different strategies that helped these selected ones becoming profitable organizations.
  • How these companies paved their own ways to success by denying to follow the traditional path.

Just Aspire

Just Aspire

Just Aspire is the inspiring journey of a multi-faceted leader. Ajai Chowdhry, co-founder of HCL has an incredible journey over the years contributing towards various projects outside his core domain. The one aspect which remained constant throughout his journey was his belief of lifelong learning. This is the story of a leader who kept reinventing himself through various challenging  as well as rewarding circumstances (Click here for my review of the book). Throughout the book Ajai's eagerness to contribute towards development of country can very well be found. Major takeaways from the book

  • How as a leader one needs to stay hungry & be a student of life.
  • A leader never stops learning & growing.
  • Importance of multidimensional leadership in an ever demanding corporate world.

The Diary Of  A Cricketer's Wife

The Diary Of A Cricketer's Wife

A husband's  journey through the eyes of a wife who was an equally important part of that journey. What a beautiful concept. Yes, The Diary Of A Cricketer's Wife is the published version of that concept. The memoir of  Cheteshwar Pujara, the test cricket legend written by none other than his wife was a pleasant read throughout (Click here for my review). The book essentially narrates the persona of the famous cricketer both on &off the field. Major takeaways from the book? Quite a few to be honest.

  • How calmness & clarity of thoughts can be your saviour in the long run.
  • Spirituality can serve you better even in the age of AI
  • Cricketers are   human too who face both success & failure. How they deal with that is what makes them great.
  • Journey of a sportsperson is full of sacrifices, more so by his loved ones.

Now comes the 5th & final one. Interestingly I read two books which are related to health & fitness. Both the books are ideally myth breakers. Both of them throw light on several misconceptions that we have learnt till date. Also various valuable inputs have been included in the books as the corrective measures. Hence I feel both of them deserved to be in this list.

Lose Fat Get Fittr

Lose Fat Get Fittr

This is a book written by Jitendra Chouksey, a fitness enthusiast. He owns a fitness app called Fittr which passes on the similar sentiments with respect to fitness as this book. This book covers facts related to exercise, nutrition, fitness as well as several myths related to health and how to tackle them. This book includes several facts that were an eye opener for me. I am sure it would be for some of you too.  Major takeaways from the book

  • Understanding your own body & chalking out a fitness plan accordingly.
  • Important aspects to consider while creating a personalised nutrition plan.
  • Detailed analysis of essential components required for body growth.
  • Systematic way of tracking your calorie intake.

But What Does Science Say

But What Does Science Say

Written by famous  orthopaedic surgeon & health educator Dr. Manan Vora this is a book that breaks several myths in terms of our food habits & overall health. Some of the topics covered here  are the ones which are almost the centre of attraction in our everyday's discussion. Major takeaways from the book

  • A comprehensive guide on essential Dos & Don'ts when it comes to managing healthy food habits.
  • Scientific facts vs widespread misinformation of social media.

That's all for this year. Hope to add more interesting books to my reading list in the coming year & share with you. Till then keep reading, keep growing.
