Journey of Sweet Post: Ganesha's Global Startup by Prachi Garg

Hello Friends,

I am back with yet another book review which I am sure will definitely excite the book lovers specially those who love books on startups. These days variety of reading resources are available for gaining knowledge on startups ranging from books, magazines, dedicated news portals , blogs & many more. People can acquire as much as knowledge possible from these sources. The book that I am going to talk about focuses on one of the very important aspects of startup journey & that is funding. Most of the businesses need additional funding when they opt for expansion. It's easier said than done to get the right sort of investors & utilize the available funds in the appropriate direction. Challenges are plenty but similarly there are ways to tackle it too. This book will give a clear idea about those challenges & ways of overcoming them. Let us dive deep into it.

Ganesha's Global Startup by Prachi Garg is an extremely simple yet powerful source of knowledge on external funding & the art of expansion of any enterprise. Whereas her previous book "Startup Secrets from the Ramayana" was based on the journey of an individual who started his entrepreneurial journey from the scratch & became successful (Click here for my review) this book focuses more on the further expansion of an enterprise with global ambitions. Similarity between both the books?? In both the cases the journeys are combined with a mythological touch. If the previous book had characters like Ram, Sita, Lakshmana, Ravana & many more, the current one has characters like Ganesha, Riddhi, Lakshmi, Parvati, Gaja to name a few. It's amazing how the author once again created a perfect blend of mythological characters & business lessons in a simple manner.

The story revolves around the journey of a food enterprise named "Sweet Post" started by Ganesha who is a foodie at heart. After initial hiccups like any other startup it started getting desired results. Further story reveals Ganesha's global ambitions for Sweet post, challenges to get required funding, team building, tackling local competition & ultimately succeeding in his endeavour to glory. But again journey of any enterprise is never ending. Hence we can surely expect the continuation of this journey in future with different characters . Author Prachi Garg who is a motivational speaker, entrepreneur & creator of a series of books on entrepreneurship like "The legends of a startup guy", "Superwomen", "Supercouples", "Supersiblings" could not have found a better timing than this to release the book when our country is witnessing a spree of startup funding. I am sure this book will definitely be a guide to many startup founders & budding entrepreneurs.

All the chapters are based on a particular business lesson narrated through Ganesha's journey. Gist of that particular lesson has been mentioned at the end of the chapter. All the  characters have been added to the story as per their expertise known to us through mythology. Overall flow of the narration is excellent with simple lessons. Being a blend of mythology & business there are quite a few comparisons mentioned in the book. My personal favourite being the one which connects building& scaling a business with God creating the universe.

Though the chapters are based on particular lessons, I am sure readers will find more than one learning in a chapter. I was surprised to find there is no content list or index at the beginning of the book. Not sure about the reason behind that but content list usually helps a reader to plan the entire reading  accordingly. I am sure the overall theme would definitely attract a lot of you. If you are a budding entrepreneur or already started your journey in the business world & planning to take your business to the next level ,this is the book for you. At the same time you can pick a copy for simple leadership lessons too as any business is based on strong leadership principles & this book exhibits quite a few of them. What are you waiting for then?? Go & grab a copy.
