Epic Journey Towards Excellence- The Ultimate Sales Accelerator

Hello Friends,

Being a salesman, I always find resources based on sales related topics very close to my heart. As salesperson we always try to keep improving to adapt to the demanding circumstances of the market. At the same time a salesperson takes lot of inspiration from day to day life experiences. If we observe our daily life carefully there are so many lessons to learn even from the smallest of the incidents or activities. Those lessons can very well be implemented in our professional life too if we can relate them correctly. I personally find those resources very interesting which depict incidents or stories co-relating sales activities & daily life. I found one such book which portrays similar concept appropriately. Let me give you a gist of the same in my today's book review.

"The Ultimate Sales Accelerator" by Amit Agarwal is one such book which caught my attention instantly courtesy extremely attractive design & representation of topics with a unique approach. Have found lot of sales books explaining various sales techniques varying from the basic ones to the advanced level ones in detail. But this one is different as it narrates one particular sales approach illustrating several examples from author's personal as well as professional life. I am sure whether you are a beginner or a veteran in the field of sales will definitely be able to co-relate this book with your own experiences. Let me now introduce you to some of the interesting features of the book including the content.

The book consists of ten chapters & every chapter is an effort to answer a particular question related to the sales approach explained in the book. Author Amit Agarwal, an IIT-BHU & IIM Ahmedabad alumni is a sales enthusiast. He is having a vast experience of selling across 23 countries. To know more about him & his work you can visit salespreneur.co. He has tried to share every bit of his experience in this book while emphasizing on an approach known as 'Use Case Selling'. He ensured that every aspect of this approach is being explained in very simple words with proper examples for a better understanding of the reader irrespective of the readers' sales knowledge & experience. Though some of the topics might feel a bit repetitive in few chapters, but overall a good read for a detailed understanding of the concept.

Colorful images & graphical representations of some of the topics are really impressive. They help in better understanding of the concepts to a large extent. Overall design of the book as mentioned earlier is really attractive. As far as the content is concerned, the narration starts with  a brief introduction of Use case selling & how it is different from other sales techniques. Further chapters give an overview of its effective use in various business scenarios & personal life. To explain every topic with ease author has taken the help of suitable images, graphics & examples from various spheres of life wherever necessary to keep the readers' interest intact.

Every chapter consists of multiple quotations either from the author himself or some of the prominent personalities. Also at the end of each chapter there is a small exercise which can help to recapitulate the entire chapter & also can be an indicator of how we can apply the techniques to our profession as well. As far as examples are concerned the author has ensured to create an appropriate mix of the ones taken from his personal life as well as the ones taken from various business scenarios. Personally I liked the way in which he illustrated the case studies of "Verizon's 2001 ad campaign", "Steve Jobs' iPod launch", "Emergence of Oneplus in Indian market" to explain various concepts related to Use case selling approach. Normally we connect easily to the concepts cited with examples of renowned brands. Also liked his explanation of functioning of different brain parts & how each of the part reacts to the aspects of Use case selling. This I felt as quite a unique approach. It also shows author's passion & deep understanding of sales concepts.

Probably the advantage of adhering to one particular concept or theory throughout the book is you don't confuse your readers with varied explanations. Author has maintained the continuity of every topic or chapter in a nice manner to get the reader glued to it. Also I did not find any intent throughout the book to impose upon the mentioned theory on the reader. Author has done his job of putting across a particular concept in front of the readers. Takeaways are completely dependent on individual reader. Overall I would strongly recommend this one to be part of your reading  list if you are passionate about sales & want to explore more on sales techniques.
