Art Of Growing Through Life: Life's Amazing Secrets

Hello Friends,

How many of you feel that you have found the purpose in your life? Or how many of you feel that you have a perfect balance between work, personal life & relationships? I am sure at times these kind of questions would have definitely crossed your mind. But most of us can't manage the required time to find answers to such questions. Most of us live an extremely stressful life. Pressure of meeting strict deadlines at workplace, fulfilling timely family commitments, maintaining a cordial social relationship.... and the list goes on. Being a social animal we are bound to take up these responsibilities. But while fulfilling the responsibilities towards others at times we tend to forget the responsibility towards ourselves. Living in an age where a lot has been spoken about mental health it is our utmost responsibility to ensure that we take time out for ourselves on a regular basis. This time should completely be 'Me' time which one can utilize for self-development. During the lockdown most of us could have managed that much needed 'Me' time. I am sure that all of you would have done your bit to reinvent the better version of you during this time. Today I am going to talk about one book which I found as an extremely helpful resource for self-development. Let me just run you through this.

I guess most of you would have heard about Gaur Gopal Das. He is one of the most popular monks of our generation who talks about various aspects of life & how to make it a better one. His youtube videos are a treat to watch. "Life's Amazing Secrets" is his first book. Those who have seen his videos can easily co-relate this book to his simple ideologies about life. He has this habit of explaining a certain human behavior in the simplest possible way by using examples from various spheres of life. This book is no exception to that.

The author has tried to explain the way in which we can balance our life by keeping all the bases of life intact. According to him a happy life can be achieved by maintaining a balance between four 'wheels' of life--- personal life, relationships, work life & social contribution. Each of these four aspects has been narrated with several examples. The entire narration takes place between the author & one of his friend named Harry while driving through the congested roads of Mumbai. It won't be difficult for the readers to connect with the stories of every human life .With the help of some extremely relevant stories he has tried to explain what it takes to live a successful yet happy life.

As mentioned at the beginning while hustling through our hectic lives we tend to miss out on the real purpose of our lives. Instead we start doing something which don't excite us. Ultimately this fight between ones' own self & the outside world leads to an unsatisfied life. This book tells you what are those aspects of life which make one unhappy & how to successfully overcome them. Extremely simple language, to the point narration, no exaggeration of the concepts are some of the key features of the book. These features would definitely get the readers glued to the chapters. I have gone through quite a few books on self-development. But haven't got one which talks about leading a happy life in such a simple way. Very few images have been used in the entire book. Out of these the one which stands out for me is the one he has used to explain why at times we shouldn't worry about a particular situation(Chapter 6-Why Worry). Representing his friend Harry as a common human being who goes through ups & downs in his life & connecting his life situations to the general ones is amazing. After going through the book readers would realize that the name of the book is quite apt too. I would strongly recommend this one to you & your loved ones.
