A memorable comeback: IPL 2021(Knockout phase)

Hello Friends,

Finally IPL 2021 has come to a successful end after a gap of around  four months between both the phases held in India and UAE respectively. After yet another closely fought season  two of the best teams from the league phase  reached the final and without a doubt the best team on the final day won the title. Any sort of applause will be lesser for both the finalists Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders for different reasons. If Chennai Super Kings made a stunning comeback after a rare disappointing season last year when they could not qualify for the playoffs, Kolkata Knight Riders did an unbelievable turnaround in the UAE phase this year to reach their third final.

Playoffs offered some nail biting encounters with two of the other teams Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore lost out in close encounters with Kolkata Knight Riders. Little disappointing for Capitals as they had yet another stellar season this year after last year's runners up performance. They certainly didn't look like a champion team in the knockout phase. Yet another disappointing year for the Bangalore fans as their team could not fulfil the dream of lifting that coveted IPL trophy. Let's now have a quick look at the top instance of inspirational leadership from the knockout phase.

Leading from the front

Over the years MSD has set several examples of leading from the front. During the first qualifier against the Delhi Capitals he showed once again why he is rated so high as a leader. From  quite a comfortable position during the chase CSK suddenly found themselves in a tricky position in the final two overs. When it was expected that Jadeja would come and finish the game for his team,  captain cool arrived at the crease and played a short but gritty knock of unbeaten 18 runs to see his team through. It reminded us once again of the 2011 World cup final when he led a fightback to win the title. A perfect example of leading from the front. It would have been easy for him to send Jadeja and take a backseat considering his own form was not that encouraging throughout the series. But a true leader always takes the challenge. MSD did the same with ease and inspired his team to yet another stunning victory.

That's all for this season. Hopefully next year with two new teams and lot more excitement we get to see some more entertaining cricket.
